The BETAFPV Air 1S Brushless Flight Controller is a separate product family that differs from the Matrix 1S series, designed to be lighter and more race-oriented (the manufacturer recommends the Matrix FC for beginners and the Air FC for advanced pilots). It features an STM32G473CEU6 MCU (168MHz), ICM42688P gyro (SPI, 8K sampling), 16MB blackbox (W25Q128), built-in voltage/current sensor, AT7456E OSD, and a built-in 5.8GHz analog VTX (25/100/200/400mW + PIT, SmartAudio 2.0). It is available in two versions: 5IN1 (FC+ESC+OSD+VTX+RX, built-in Serial ELRS 2.4GHz receiver - CRSF, 49.99 USD, currently sold out) and 4IN1 (FC+ESC+OSD+VTX, requires an external receiver, 44.99 USD, weight 2.9g). The ESC provides 5A continuous current (Bluejay BB51 firmware, target: A_X_5_96KHz_V0.19.hex, DShot300/DShot600); motor connections are made ONLY by soldering, and JST connectors are not supported. UART2 is assigned to the internal VTX by default; 3 additional fully functional serial ports are available for an external CRSF/SBUS receiver, GPS, or HD VTX (on the 5IN1 version, removing a resistor on the board may be required to use the built-in ELRS receiver).
